What is the value of a Revolut RevPoint?
Revolut RevPoints are loyalty points rather than money. They do not have a fixed monetary value, and the amount of benefit you receive depends on how you redeem them.
You may be able to redeem RevPoints for airline miles, selected Stays or Experiences bookings, gift cards, Revolut Pay discounts and other rewards available in your account. Each option can have its own redemption conditions and points requirements.
This means that asking how much one RevPoint is worth has no single answer. Instead, it is more useful to ask how much real value a particular reward provides for the number of points required.
The key fact about RevPoints value
Revolut states that RevPoints have no fixed monetary value. They are not a currency, cannot be withdrawn as cash and can only be redeemed for eligible programme rewards. Any calculated value per point is an estimate based on a particular redemption, not an official cash exchange rate.
How to calculate the value of RevPoints
To compare redemption offers, divide the actual financial benefit you receive by the number of RevPoints you need to redeem. The result provides an illustrative value per point for that particular reward.
REDEMPTION VALUE FORMULA
Actual saving ÷ RevPoints required
€0.01
Illustrative value per RevPoint
Based on an invented €20 saving for 2,000 points
This is a fictional mathematical illustration. It is not a published Revolut conversion rate, current redemption offer or guaranteed value.
In this example, the hypothetical benefit works out to one euro cent per point. A different reward might produce a different result, even if the same number of RevPoints is redeemed.
If you prefer to compare values in cents, multiply the currency amount per point by 100. For example, €0.01 per point is equal to one euro cent per point.
Only count genuine savings
A reward is not automatically worth its advertised discount amount. Compare it with the best reasonably available alternative you would actually buy, including relevant fees, booking restrictions and other costs.
RevPoints value examples: comparing different redemptions
The following examples demonstrate how different hypothetical offers can produce different values per RevPoint. None of these examples represents a confirmed live Revolut reward.
| Example | Actual saving | Points used | Value per point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Example A | €5 | 1,000 | €0.005 |
| Example B | €20 | 2,000 | €0.01 |
| Example C | €45 | 3,000 | €0.015 |
| Example D | €80 | 4,000 | €0.02 |
All four rows are invented examples used only to explain the calculation. They are not advertised Revolut redemption rates or a prediction of the rewards available to your account.
Example D provides a greater hypothetical saving per point than Example A. However, the comparison only makes sense if the rewards are genuinely useful to you and the calculated saving reflects a real alternative purchase.
For readers in the UK, the same method works with pounds and pence rather than euros and cents. Avoid comparing currency amounts across countries without considering the relevant exchange rates and local prices.
What determines the value of your RevPoints?
The number of points required is only one part of the calculation. Several other factors can affect whether a redemption represents good value.
The reward you choose
Airline miles, accommodation discounts, gift cards and shopping offers may provide different benefits for the same number of points.
Additional cash costs
Some rewards require taxes, fees, supplementary payments or other charges. These amounts reduce the net financial benefit of redeeming points.
Alternative prices
The actual saving depends on what you would otherwise pay for a comparable product, hotel booking, flight or service.
Country and account eligibility
Reward options can vary by market and customer. A redemption available in one country may not be offered to another account.
Reward terms and restrictions
Refundability, expiry dates, booking flexibility and redemption limitations can affect the usefulness of a reward.
How much are RevPoints worth when transferred to airline miles?
Airline miles are one of the best-known RevPoints redemption methods, but the value you receive from them depends on the airline programme and the flight or other reward you select.
Revolut offers transfers to participating airline loyalty programmes where available. The conversion ratio is determined by the applicable partner and account conditions. A one-to-one points-to-miles transfer, where offered, does not mean that a mile is worth one euro, one pound or one cent.
Airline miles do not have a universal guaranteed cash value either. A redemption may involve cash taxes, carrier charges, limited award availability or other restrictions.
How to estimate the value of an airline miles redemption
Start by finding the cash price of a comparable flight you would actually purchase. Subtract the unavoidable cash charges attached to the award booking. Divide the remaining saving by the number of RevPoints used, taking the applicable transfer ratio into account.
FICTIONAL FLIGHT REDEMPTION
Comparable cash fare: €250
€0.02
Illustrative benefit per RevPoint
Assuming an eligible 1:1 transfer and a comparable booking
Entirely fictional example. The assumed 1:1 transfer does not apply universally. Actual airline prices, mileage requirements, fees and availability depend on the relevant provider.
In this invented scenario, the €200 saving divided by 10,000 RevPoints produces €0.02 per point. If the alternative flight costs less, the charges are higher or the transfer ratio is different, the calculated value changes.
Check availability before transferring
Revolut states that confirmed airline miles transfers cannot be reversed. Verify the required miles, available flights, additional cash charges and transfer conditions with the airline programme before transferring any points.
What is the value of RevPoints for hotel bookings?
RevPoints may be redeemed for eligible discounts on selected Revolut Stays bookings. The financial benefit depends on the booking price, points required and alternative accommodation offers.
Suppose a room costs €180 through a particular booking offer and 2,000 RevPoints reduce the price to €160. The apparent saving is €20. However, if the same room with comparable conditions costs €165 elsewhere without points, the meaningful additional saving is only €5.
Using the lower comparable cash price, the illustrative benefit would be €5 divided by 2,000 RevPoints, or €0.0025 per point.
This is why comparing the displayed discount alone can overstate the practical value of a Stays redemption. Check the total cost, cancellation rules, room type, included benefits and taxes.
Compare like-for-like bookings
A refundable hotel room is not necessarily equivalent to a non-refundable room. Compare the same dates, accommodation conditions and included services when estimating your actual saving.
How to calculate RevPoints value for gift cards
Where gift card redemption is available, the calculation can be straightforward if the card has a clearly stated usable value and a known RevPoints requirement.
For example, if a hypothetical €15 gift card requires 3,000 RevPoints and you would otherwise make an eligible €15 purchase at that retailer, the illustrative value is €15 divided by 3,000 points, or €0.005 per point.
However, the gift card may be less useful if it has regional restrictions, a short expiry date, excluded products or a minimum purchase requirement. In such cases, the face value is not necessarily equal to your personal benefit.
Revolut’s available brands and redemption conditions depend on the market and offer. Always confirm the applicable rules in the app before exchanging points.
What are RevPoints worth with Revolut Pay discounts?
Selected merchants may allow points to be redeemed for a discount at Revolut Pay checkout. This provides a specific purchase context in which to evaluate the reward.
Compare the final amount payable with RevPoints against the best available price without using points. If the merchant offers other discounts, take those into account as well.
For example, a hypothetical checkout saving of £6 for 1,200 RevPoints would produce a calculated benefit of £0.005 per point. This does not mean all Revolut Pay discounts offer the same value.
Where the feature is available, the actual discount and points requirement should be displayed before the redemption is confirmed.
RevPoints earning rate vs redemption value: what’s the difference?
The number of RevPoints earned from eligible card spending is separate from the benefit you receive when you eventually redeem those points.
Earning rate
Describes how many points you may receive from a given amount of eligible spending, depending on your country, Revolut plan and supported card type.
Redemption value
Describes the practical benefit of a specific reward divided by the RevPoints used to obtain it. This value can differ across offers.
Overall return
Can be estimated only after considering both points earned and the value of the redemption, alongside applicable fees and subscription costs.
Imagine a hypothetical plan that awards one point per two currency units of eligible spending. If your chosen redemption hypothetically saves one cent per point, that combination provides an illustrative saving of half a cent per two currency units of spending. This is not an official return rate.
Any meaningful comparison must also consider the price of the Revolut plan, whether the spending qualifies and whether the redemption is actually useful to you.
Our RevPoints Calculator has a different purpose
Our interactive calculator estimates points earned from supported spending, country, account plan and card settings. It does not calculate a guaranteed monetary reward or assume that every RevPoint can be redeemed at a fixed cash value.
Does buying RevPoints affect their value?
Some Revolut features allow customers to acquire RevPoints using their own money. These points should be evaluated differently from points awarded through qualifying purchases.
With supported features such as Spare Change or direct point purchases, the customer spends money to obtain points. The purchase cost should therefore be compared with the realistic benefit expected from redeeming them.
For example, if you spend a hypothetical €15 buying points but the reward you receive saves only €10 compared with an equivalent cash purchase, the transaction has not produced a financial saving.
The conversion terms for purchasing RevPoints can depend on the market and applicable programme rules. Never assume that a purchase rate is identical to a guaranteed redemption value.
Buying points is not the same as earning free points
Review the purchase price, redemption options, non-refundability and any applicable expiry conditions before buying RevPoints. A points purchase should not automatically be treated as a reward or financial gain.
Common mistakes when evaluating RevPoints value
Several assumptions can make a points redemption appear more valuable than it really is. These are the most important ones to avoid.
Assuming a fixed cents-per-point rate
Revolut does not guarantee a universal cash value for RevPoints. Calculate the specific reward instead of applying an invented conversion rate.
Ignoring extra fees
Airline award taxes, booking charges and other unavoidable costs reduce the real benefit of using points.
Using inflated retail prices
A reward may look valuable when compared with a high advertised price but less attractive when compared with a genuinely available alternative.
Confusing airline miles with cash
A transfer ratio such as one point to one mile does not establish the monetary value of either the RevPoint or the mile.
Overlooking plan subscription fees
A higher points earning rate may not offset the price of a more expensive Revolut subscription for your personal spending habits.
Assuming rewards are available everywhere
Redemption options, participating partners and relevant conditions can vary across countries and customer accounts.
How to check the actual redemption value in Revolut
The most reliable starting point for an available reward is the information displayed in your own Revolut app.
Open the RevPoints section
Sign in to your Revolut app and access the RevPoints area for your personal account.
Choose a reward
Explore the available options, such as airline miles, Stays, Experiences, gift cards or supported shopping discounts.
Read the redemption details
Note the points required, the discount or benefit offered, any cash payment and important restrictions.
Compare the alternatives
Calculate the actual saving and divide it by the points required. Consider whether you would otherwise buy the reward.
If the reward involves an external provider, check that provider’s terms and prices as well. The offer details displayed inside Revolut are more relevant to your particular redemption than a generic internet estimate.
Frequently asked questions about RevPoints value
Answers to common questions about points, money, airline miles, shopping discounts and redemption calculations.
How much is one Revolut RevPoint worth?
One RevPoint has no fixed monetary value. Its practical benefit depends on the specific reward available, the number of points required and any additional costs or restrictions.
How much are 1,000 RevPoints worth?
There is no guaranteed cash value for 1,000 RevPoints. For a particular redemption, divide the actual saving by the number of points used to determine an illustrative value. Different rewards can produce different results.
How much are 10,000 RevPoints worth?
The monetary benefit depends on what reward you choose. Ten thousand RevPoints do not automatically equal a fixed amount of pounds or euros. Check the redemption options and relevant conditions in your Revolut app.
Can RevPoints be converted directly into cash?
No. RevPoints are loyalty points, not a currency. Revolut’s programme terms state that points cannot be directly exchanged for money or withdrawn as cash.
Is one RevPoint equal to one euro cent?
No universal one-cent conversion rate exists. One cent per point can be the result of a hypothetical calculation, but it is not a guaranteed official redemption value.
Does one RevPoint equal one airline mile?
Some supported partner transfers may offer a one-to-one ratio, but the actual conversion depends on the airline programme and applicable terms. A mile also has no single guaranteed cash value.
Are RevPoints worth more for flights or hotels?
Neither category is automatically better. Compare actual savings, points required, fees, availability and booking conditions for the specific reward you want.
Can buying RevPoints be worthwhile?
That depends on the price of the points and the realistic benefit of the intended redemption. Purchased points are not free rewards, and the cost may exceed the value you receive.
Does the RevPoints Calculator show cash value?
No. Our RevPoints Calculator estimates potential points earned from eligible spending using supported country, account plan and card settings. It does not promise a monetary redemption value.
Can RevPoints value differ between countries?
Yes. Available rewards, participating partners, local prices and programme conditions can differ between markets. Use the options and terms shown for your own Revolut account.
