How do RevPoints work with Revolut Premium?
Revolut Premium is a paid personal account plan that offers a higher regular RevPoints earning rate than Standard and Plus in the five countries covered by this guide. Eligible customers can collect points from qualifying card purchases after joining the RevPoints programme.
For eligible debit card spending, the published Premium rate is 1 RevPoint per £4 in the United Kingdom or 1 RevPoint per €4 in Germany, France, Ireland and Spain.
In Ireland and Spain, Revolut also publishes a higher Premium rate for eligible credit card spending: 1.5 RevPoints per €4. Credit card access depends on availability, approval and the terms of the relevant product.
This guide explains what the published rates mean in practice, how much Premium can earn at different spending levels and why the additional points should be considered alongside the subscription fee.
Revolut Premium RevPoints at a glance
Premium earns regular points at 1 point per 4 units of the relevant local currency on eligible debit card spending in the five markets reviewed. That is 2.5 times the published regular earning rate of Standard and Plus. Additional points do not have a fixed cash value and do not automatically make the Premium subscription worthwhile.
How many RevPoints can Premium earn per month?
At a regular debit card rate of 1 point per 4 units of eligible spending, you can estimate the potential points by dividing the qualifying amount by four.
| Eligible spending per month | Monthly RevPoints | Yearly RevPoints |
|---|---|---|
| £400 / €400 | 100 | 1,200 |
| £800 / €800 | 200 | 2,400 |
| £1,200 / €1,200 | 300 | 3,600 |
| £1,600 / €1,600 | 400 | 4,800 |
| £2,000 / €2,000 | 500 | 6,000 |
| £3,000 / €3,000 | 750 | 9,000 |
The table applies the published regular Premium debit card rate separately to GBP spending in the UK or EUR spending in the four eurozone markets. It does not imply an equivalence between pounds and euros. Annual figures assume twelve months of identical fully eligible spending. Actual point awards may differ.
For example, a Premium customer in Germany making €1,600 of qualifying debit card purchases in a month would receive a simplified estimate of 400 RevPoints.
A Premium customer in the UK making £2,000 of qualifying debit card purchases would have an estimated 500 regular RevPoints for that month.
These examples exclude promotional multipliers, points purchases, additional programme activities and transaction-level rounding differences.

Premium vs Standard and Plus: how many extra RevPoints?
Premium has a higher regular earning rate than both Standard and Plus in all five markets covered here. This is the first increase in the published regular debit card rate when moving up through those three plans.
| Plan | UK rate | Eurozone rate in reviewed markets |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 1 point per £10 | 1 point per €10 |
| Plus | 1 point per £10 | 1 point per €10 |
| Premium | 1 point per £4 | 1 point per €4 |
For €2,000 of fully eligible monthly debit card spending in Germany, Standard and Plus would each earn an estimated 200 RevPoints. Premium would earn an estimated 500 points.
That represents 300 additional points per month or 3,600 additional points over twelve identical months at the published regular rates.
In proportional terms, Premium earns 2.5 times as many regular points as Standard or Plus for the same qualifying debit card spending. This is a difference in points earned, not a guaranteed financial return.
More RevPoints does not mean guaranteed savings
The additional 300 points in this example do not have a fixed monetary value. Whether they justify paying for Premium depends on the plan’s subscription cost, other benefits and the rewards you can realistically redeem.
Premium vs Metal and Ultra: how much higher are the rates?
Premium is not the highest RevPoints earning tier. Both Metal and Ultra have higher published regular debit card rates in the five markets covered by our guides.
| Plan | Regular rate | Estimated RevPoints |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 1 per £10 | 200 |
| Plus | 1 per £10 | 200 |
| Premium | 1 per £4 | 500 |
| Metal | 1 per £2 | 1,000 |
| Ultra | 1 per £1 | 2,000 |
This table uses UK debit card rates and assumes that every pound of the spending amount qualifies. The corresponding euro-denominated regular debit card rates in the four other reviewed markets have the same numerical ratios. Credit card rates can differ.
For this UK example, Metal produces twice as many regular RevPoints as Premium, while Ultra produces four times as many.
However, the higher plans also have their own subscription costs. Upgrading merely to increase the number of points should be considered separately from other included benefits.
The most useful comparison is between the incremental cost of the higher subscription and the benefits you personally expect to obtain, rather than the headline number of additional points alone.
Premium debit vs credit card RevPoints in Ireland and Spain
In Ireland and Spain, Revolut publishes a separate Premium earning rate for eligible credit card spending. The published difference can be significant for customers with access to a qualifying card.
| Eligible spending | Debit card | Eligible credit card |
|---|---|---|
| €400 | 100 | 150 |
| €800 | 200 | 300 |
| €1,200 | 300 | 450 |
| €1,600 | 400 | 600 |
| €2,000 | 500 | 750 |
| €3,000 | 750 | 1,125 |
The comparison uses 1 point per €4 for qualifying Premium debit card spending and 1.5 points per €4 for qualifying Premium credit card spending. All examples assume fully eligible transactions and do not account for transaction-level rounding. Credit card approval and availability are not guaranteed.
With €2,000 of eligible spending, the simplified calculation produces 500 regular RevPoints on a Premium debit card and 750 on a qualifying Premium credit card.
That is a difference of 250 points for the same assumed spending amount. However, credit card terms, interest, fees and repayment obligations must be evaluated separately.
Do not spend or borrow more just to earn points
A higher credit card earning rate does not automatically offset interest charges or fees. Earning RevPoints should not be a reason to take on unnecessary borrowing or spend beyond your budget.
Is Revolut Premium worth it for RevPoints?
Premium offers a clear increase in regular RevPoints earned compared with Standard and Plus. Whether that increase justifies the subscription cost depends on your spending habits, actual redemption options and other benefits.
Estimate your qualifying spending
Calculate the amount of genuine eligible card spending you expect each month. Exclude payments that do not qualify under Revolut’s rules.
Compare Standard or Plus with Premium
Use your country’s rates to estimate the additional RevPoints generated by Premium for exactly the same eligible spending.
Check the Premium subscription fee
Find the current plan price for your market. Subscription prices, payment arrangements and cancellation conditions may differ.
Assess actual redemption benefits
Review the rewards available in your Revolut app and estimate the practical benefit of the additional points without assuming a universal cash value.
Include the other Premium features
Evaluate the account services and benefits you genuinely use. A plan may have value beyond points, but unused features should not be treated as savings.
There is no universal Premium break-even point
Without a verified current subscription price and a realistic value for the rewards you would actually redeem, no universal monthly spending threshold can establish when Premium becomes financially worthwhile. The points difference can be calculated, but its cash benefit cannot be guaranteed.
Which transactions earn Premium RevPoints?
Premium’s higher regular earning rate applies only to qualifying transactions. Not all payments made through your Revolut account generate RevPoints.
Ordinary eligible card purchases may earn points, depending on the transaction type, merchant classification and the programme conditions for your market.
Revolut’s published exclusions include money transfers, wallet top-ups, cash-like activity, cryptocurrency purchases, brokerage transactions, certain financial and insurance services, taxes, fines, gambling and payments to utility providers.
Other excluded categories can include charities, political and religious organisations, educational institutions, selected real estate and rental activities, parking services, advertising and specialist business transactions.
Revolut Pro transactions are excluded from the regular personal RevPoints programme described in the official guidance reviewed here.
Example: total spending is not always eligible spending
Suppose a Premium customer in France has €2,000 of monthly outgoings, but €600 relates to excluded transactions. The remaining €1,400 of fully eligible debit card spending would produce a simplified estimate of 350 RevPoints at the published Premium rate, rather than 500.

Can Premium customers earn additional RevPoints?
Eligible Premium customers may be able to collect points through supported programme activities beyond ordinary debit card purchases. Availability and earning conditions depend on the market and offer.

Before activating Spare Change or purchasing points, compare the money you would spend with the potential benefit of an available redemption.
Our How to Earn RevPoints Guide explains the available earning and purchasing methods.
How can you use RevPoints earned with Premium?
RevPoints earned through Premium can be redeemed for rewards offered to eligible customers. Available options and redemption conditions vary by country and account.
